Delete Account & Data

You can delete your My Quran account and all associated data at any time, either directly in the app or by emailing us. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

  1. Open My Quran and go to Settings
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted

Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

  1. Email hello.myquran.dev@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"
  2. Include the email address linked to your My Quran account
  3. We'll confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 7 business days

What gets deleted

  • Account profile (name, email, login credentials)
  • Reading progress, bookmarks, and last-read position
  • Tasbih (dhikr counter) history synced to your account
  • Notification and prayer time preferences
  • Any other data tied to your account on our servers

What may be retained, and for how long

  • Anonymized usage analytics not linked to your identity
  • Data we're legally required to retain (e.g. for fraud/abuse prevention), kept for 30 days after deletion, then permanently purged

About local data

My Quran works offline-first. Downloaded translations, reciter audio, and any data stored only on your device are removed instantly when you uninstall the app. The steps above cover data stored on our servers via account sync.
