Privacy Policy

What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information My Quran ("the app") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. My Quran is built and maintained by Muhammad Shafeeq, an independent developer, reachable at shafeeqashiqai@gmail.com.
Information we collect
My Quran collects the following information to provide and improve the app:
- Account information — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address to identify your account.
- Reading & worship data — your reading progress, bookmarks, Tasbih (dhikr counter) counts, and profile preferences (such as country, language, and Quran reading level), so they can sync across your devices.
- Notification preferences — your chosen prayer notification settings (sound, advance reminders, repeat options) so the app can alert you at the right times.
- Device & usage data — through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, we receive basic device information (device model, OS version), app usage patterns, and crash/error reports to help us fix bugs and improve the app.
- Location — if you enable location access, it's used on your device to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction. This location is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
My Quran does not show ads and does not use any advertising SDKs.
How information is used
We use the information above to provide core app features (sync of bookmarks, reading progress, and Tasbih counts across your devices; accurate prayer times and notifications), to respond to support requests, and to identify and fix bugs through crash reporting.
Third-party services
My Quran uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — for authentication (Google Sign-In), data sync/storage, analytics, and crash reporting. See Firebase's Privacy and Security policy.
- Google Sign-In — for optional account authentication. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including relying on Firebase's secure infrastructure for storage and transmission. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
International data transfer
My Quran is developed in Pakistan, and the third-party services we use (such as Firebase) may store or process your data on servers located in other countries. By using the app, you consent to your information being processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. You can request any of these by emailing shafeeqashiqai@gmail.com, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Data retention & deletion
We retain your account and app data for as long as your account is active, so your bookmarks, progress, and settings remain available across your devices. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, email shafeeqashiqai@gmail.com with your request, and we'll delete it within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
My Quran is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app's minimum age to use is 13 years old. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email above so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above.
